The Community of West Springs
West Springs is a residential neighbourhood in the southwest quadrant of Calgary. It is located at the western edge of the city. The community borders the acreages and estate homes of Springbank to the west, 69 Street W to the east, Bow Trail to the south and Old Banff Coach Road and the community of Cougar Ridge and the Canada Olympic Park to the north.
The land, previously part of the East Springbank area of the Municipal District of Rocky View, was annexed to the City of Calgary in 1995 and West Springs was established in 2001. The western extension of the neighbourhood, west of 85th Street, reaching into the aspen parkland, is called Wentworth. This community has lots to offer. West Springs residents have access to a wide array of amenities, including: bike paths, playgrounds and parks, sports facilities and schools.
